TMA Middle School Program, grades 6th - 8th

TMA currently enrolls students in grades 6th, 7th, and 8th.

Overview-

  • Integrated, Thematic Curriculum: Subjects are taught in an interdisciplinary way—history, literature, science, and social studies often revolve around big themes or real-world issues.

  • Project-Based Learning: Students are expected to design and complete in-depth projects, both individually and in groups, often incorporating research, problem-solving, and presentations.

  • Deep Thinking Over Memorization: Students are expected to analyze, problem-solve, and apply concepts—not just recall facts.

  • Higher-Level Discussion and Writing: Students engage in Socratic seminars, write persuasive essays, support arguments with evidence, and present findings to peers.

  • Growth-Oriented Assessment: Mastery is measured through rubrics, portfolios, and student reflections—not just tests.

  • Fine Arts Education: All students are required to take at least one fine arts class. They can choose between Orchestra, Dance, Musical Theater, and Visual Arts.
