In the fall of 2019, the New Mexico Public Education Department (NMPED) requested that all New Mexico school districts establish a Superintendent’s/Executive Director’s Council to support student success. The Montessori Elementary and Middle School (TMEMS) is committed to fostering a collaborative and supportive environment for students, families, and staff by implementing best practices and innovative approaches. Our goal is to ensure TMEMS remains a welcoming learning community.
We are seeking applicants interested in serving on the TMEMS Montessori Community Council. If you would like to be considered for a position on the Council, please contact Piper Curry at pcurry@tmesnm.com and Alissa Sanchez at asanchez@tmesnm.com.
The Montessori Community Council will provide updates to and collaborate with the school administration and governing bodies. The Council is advisory in nature and does not make final decisions or policies.
Based on NMPED guidelines, the Council shall have a sufficient number of members to meet requirements but will not exceed 15 members, serving staggered three- or four-year terms.
The Council membership shall include representatives from the school district, school staff, students, parents and family members, community members, and members of Nations, Tribes, or Pueblos.
