Established in 2005, The Montessori Academy (TMA), formerly The Montessori Elementary & Middle School (TMEMS), is a charter school authorized by the New Mexico Public Education Commission. TMA currently serves students from Kindergarten through twelfth grade from Albuquerque and the surrounding areas. TMA classes incorporate the Montessori philosophy and curriculum, with weekly Suzuki Strings and Visual Art classes.
The Montessori Academy received a school score of 69.4 and was designated as a Spotlight School under the ESSA for the 2024-2025 school year. This means that TMA is in the top 25% of schools in New Mexico! We could not be prouder of our students, staff, parents/guardians, and all stakeholders who help TMA thrive!

Lottery Update & Clarification
Due to technical difficulties during the lottery process, only the Assigned Lottery Numbers were shuffled. The student initials and dates of birth did not automatically realign during the shuffle as intended.
Please note:
- We are honoring the assigned lottery number shuffle as the determining factor for placement order.
- The number in the far left column labeled “Order of Admission” indicates your child’s official position in the lottery.
- The green-highlighted row and all names listed below it indicate the waitlist. Families will be contacted in numerical order as seats become available.
- To identify your child’s position, match your child’s initials and date of birth to the list, and then refer to the corresponding Order of Admission number on the far left.
- The correct student initials and dates of birth have now been updated and verified on the posted lottery sheets.
- To locate your child’s placement, please review the following documents for their grade level for the upcoming school year.
