We are proud to team up with UNICEF this year!

The Montessori Elementary and Middle School has a long history of community service. Although we are currently remote learning, we continue to strive to make a difference in the world and this year is no different!  We are excited to partner with UNICEF to support the health of children across the world through their ‘Trick or Trick for UNICEF’ initiative.

Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF is a 70-year-long American tradition in which families like yours learn about the power that we all have to make a difference in the world. You might remember carrying a little orange box door to door as you collected coins for kids in need while Trick-or-Treating over the years ... just as millions of adults have. UNICEF uses these donations to deliver lifesaving supplies to the most vulnerable children, helping them have brighter futures.

UNICEF USA is not going to let a pandemic break a 70-year streak! To make sure Halloween 2020 remains meaningful, safe and still a lot of fun this year, they've gone totally digital! For the first time, donations will be collected through ‘Virtual Collection Boxes’ and TMMS has signed up to help.

There are two ways you can help TMMS earn funds to support UNICEF:

  • Go to our Virtual Collection Box and DONATE through our special TMMS QR Code (see the image below for the QR Code) or by clicking on our fundraising page link: https://tinyurl.com/yyz6nxl3 .  (The QR Code and fundraising page link take you to the same place to enter your credit card information to make a donation directly to UNICEF in any amount you choose.)  All donations are tax-deductible (you will receive a receipt via email from UNICEF) through a secure site.
  • Watch a few short videos!  UNICEF has sponsors who are donating funds to UNICEF when people watch a few short videos.  For every video you watch (each video is under 3 minutes long), our school receives ‘virtual coins’.  Our students will then be able to help decide how UNICEF will spend the money our team has raised on items such as safe water tablets, immunization vaccines and N96 masks.  All you need to do is click on the links to the videos and our team will receive the virtual coins once you have completed the video!  You can play the videos as many times as you’d like and our team will receive credit each time (while supplies last).  These videos can be found on this page below!

TMMS students will participate in various activities in google classroom in the next two weeks.  Some of these activities will be uploaded to the Trick or Treat for UNICEF page for additional ‘virtual coins’ from sponsors!  These activities will be centered around how children can make a difference in their community and for their family.

Thank you for participating in this new way to Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF and for helping our students make a difference! The impact you're making is lifesaving for children around the world.

Sincerely,

The Trick-or-Treat team at UNICEF USA and The Montessori Middle School
